Washington-based insole leader Superfeet Worldwide Inc. has announced that it has become the official insole of the Canadian Snowboard Federation (CSF) through 2011. Working closely with the CSF, Superfeet representatives fit Canada’s National Snowboard Team athletes, coaches and trainers with premium insoles in Tremblant, Calgary, and Vancouver this January.
After their most successful season ever in 2007-2008, and with the 2010 Winter Olympics less than twelve months away, Canada’s National Snowboard Team is focused on increasing the quality of their sports medicine support and equipment. Superfeet’s supportive Trim-to-Fit® Premium Insoles will help the team achieve performance excellence at the 2009 and 2010 World Cup, World Championship, and Olympic Winter Games competitions.
“Superfeet is one of the quality brands that the CSF endorses,” says Tom McIllfaterick, CEO of the Canadian Snowboard Federation. “The need to continue to seek out competitive advantages on the international landscape is prevalent on the World Cup Circuit, and we are thrilled to partner with Superfeet to gain some of that advantage."
Superfeet Premium Insoles are engineered to help support and stabilize the foot, reduce heel lift, and enhance the fit and comfort of snowboard boots. Direct energy transfer onto the edges of the board helps increase balance, power and control. Superfeet also help reduce excess motion inside the boot, which in turn reduces fatigue during long runs. New winter models REDhot™ for men and hotPINK™ for women also feature a new heat management system that combines an Outlast® Adaptive Comfort® top cover with Thermo-Foil™ and AirWeave™ technology layers to regulate temperature inside footwear.
“As a high performance athlete competing for Canada, I need every little edge I can get,” says Maëlle Ricker, women’s all-around Snowboardcross champion and 2008 Crystal Globe trophy winner. “With Superfeet insoles I am comfortable and stable on my feet through hours of training and heightened moments of competitions – even on my way up to the podium!”
Acknowledging the sponsorship benefits to both parties, Superfeet Assistant Sales Manager Evan Keating says, “Our partnership with the CSF will increase Superfeet’s exposure to a wider range of boarders who could improve their performance with an expert boot fit. We are confident that Superfeet will give the team the competitive advantage they need to win the gold.”
The CSF Team’s next event is the 2009 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup at Cypress Mountain, West Vancouver, B.C., Canada, running February 13-15. Superfeet will be hosting a booth at the LG Mountain Festival at the Park Royal Shopping Centre in West Vancouver to represent the team’s official insole.
